Venice Canals, CA
You may have noticedthat in the past two weeksI didn't postevery day,but I'm back!My in-lawswere here and, with them, I visited new places andrestaurants, andI'll post them for you.
We started with a suggestion of mydear friendEdina: Venice Canals(right here inVenice Beach,California!)
The canalswere builtin 1905 byAbbotKinney(one of the most famous street in Venice. I already spoke about it here) who wanted toreplicateVenice (Italy) in California.Formerlythere were severalcanals, but with huge changesin the American culture (like cars!), the canals weredecreasing andtoday there are only six, which afteramajor renovation in1992,becamea tourist attraction.
Hiddenamid themadness ofVenice, nearthe beach, it's a nice walk and very differentthan we are used toin LA. The houses built by the canals are alsoan attraction themselves (after therenovation of thearea, todaythey are worthasmall fortuneand are also beingrenovated).
It's not like theoriginal, but it's a beautiful place to visit!
