Beauty Tips

Recently I discovered two amazing products that I wanted to share here with you:

RD Protein Cream

My hair is dyed and after so many coloring, the ends got dried and now I suffer with some frizz. So I was almost buying Moroccan Oil, when I read in some magazine a girl's testimony about the RD Protein Cream and her hair was gorgeous. I decided to give it a try, bought the cream and it's fantastic! It leaves the hair super silky, shiny and no frizz. A winner!

Now, for red lips lovers who, like me, don't remember retouching the lipstick, and get angry when look in the mirror an hour after applying it and realize that half of it has faded, here is the solution of our problems: Sephora Cream Lip Stain

It's the best long lasting lipstick ever! I confess I have not tried that many, but now I don't need it! It was a friend's tip who always has her makeup flawless! During a dinner, I could not resist and asked which lipstick was wearing. To my delight (and my wallet's), it's Sephora! I bought it, tried, and the same day I went out with my red lips, I got three compliments and people asking me where I had bought it. My color is number 01, but I'll go back at the store and buy all the others!

Effective and multi-use moisturizer: Embryolisse

This tip goes to those who, like me, suffers from dry skin all year round: facial moisturizer Lait-Crème Concentré, from the French brand Embryolisse.
During researches for my trip to France, I discovered that this moisturizer is a must for many people because on top of being a super moisturizer, makeup artists and models use it also as a primer (before makeup) and makeup remover as well. I bought it and loved it! And I have - so far - just used it as a moisturizer...
As the name says, it's concentrated, but the texture is very light. Leaves the skin great, neither oily nor sheen. On their website you will find other options of incredible products not only for the face but for the body too.

Always hydrated!

Dove Shea Butter Liquid/Bar Soap

For those who live in dry weather places, keeping the skin hydrated is a must. And after trying zillions of soaps, few years ago I found my favorite: the classic Dove, because it really makes the skin more hydrated than the other soaps.
I've tried the classic, cucumber, grapefruit, rose, but my latest discovery is by far the best of all: Dove Shea Butter.
Available in bar or liquid, it is only joy: easy to find, cheap, delicious smell (kind of sweet, vanilla) and excellent result.

It will always have a place in my bathroom!

Travel size toiletries

I've already said here that I am totally in love with travel size toiletries (and to confirm it, the photos below are from "my personal archive"), and today I went to Bed, Bath & Beyond and was surprised by the amount of miniatures they carry there! It is by far the best of all stores and drugstores! You can find absolutely everything in travel size: shampoos, face and body creams, toothpastes, deodorants, makeup removers, soaps, powders, oils, shaving foam, hair sprays, hand sanitizers, baby items and many other things that certainly will make your trip more convenient and organized!

No more beauty treatments sacrified when traveling!

Supergoop!

As usual, this summer several cool new stuff appeared on the shelves of drugstores and supermarkets, and one of them was Supergoop sunscreen wipes!
With SPF30, these wipes are very easy to use on a daily basis, on kids, when traveling, vacationing etc.
Supergoop! offers sunscreens in several different - and equally practical - versions: spray, stick, cream, in bulk, with serum, moisturizer etc.

Everpure

L'Oreal's hair treatment line called Everpure always appears as one of the best products for colored hair. I was curious to try them out and after I visit my hairdresser, who told me the product is really good, I bought the Moisture Leave-in Conditioner.
I've started using it a few weeks ago and I'm very happy: besides the aesthetic result (softer, frizz-free hair), it is moisturizing, so it is perfect for colored hair like mine.
It is important to say that, after application, the hair has a different touch (like when applying mousse) because it is a lightweight gel, but nothing that interferes with your look or is eye-catching. And, after some time, the hair goes back to "normal."
If the result is good, the price is even better: less than $10 bucks at any drugstore or supermarkets!

Home hair removal

Every now and then everybody talks about Brazilian waxing. Since I am Brazilian and I have years of expertise, I have a great tip for removing hairs at home: Remington EP6025 Epilator.

Many years ago I had a waxing device called Epilady (what a pain, my God!) and I confess I was not in the mood to buy another one like it. But shaving here in the U.S. is quite different from Brazil, so I decided to buy it. And what I have to say is that the technology has evolved, my dear! This device is much more convenient, wireless, with multi-tweezers (so several hairs are removed by the root at the same time) and it can be used in the bikini area. The suffering does not compare with the old one. The result is great and the skin is very soft! This and other models are easily found on sale at Amazon, supermarkets and drugstores.

Savon de Marseille Extra Pur

I discovered Savon de Marseille Extra Pur when searching for French cosmetics and now I am a fan. The products are made with plant oils and no fragrances nor artificial ingredients. The packaging is simple and beautiful, and with an amazing smell! The brand also carries liquid and bar soaps, shower gel, moisturizers etc.. If you can only buy one, I would suggest figue (fig). They also have organic, exotic and original collections. Savon de Marseille is on sale at Amazon, a few drugstores or on their website.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on

For those who like eyeliner, I recommend Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on. Available in over 15 colors, as the name says, the pencil glides very smoothly on the eye and really stays 24 hours! If you smudge with a brush, it's beautiful! This spring the brand launched a special anniversary kit with 15 colors, but usually they are sold separately or in pairs. They can be easily found at Sephora, Amazon, Urban Decay's website among others.

The Beauty Detox Solution

Today is Monday, also known as cleaning/dieting day. So it is worth mentioning the "it" diet here in the U.S.: the Glowing Green Smoothie developed by celebrity nutritionist, personal chef and yoga instructor Kimberly Snyder. According to her, clients who's drunk the juice regularly started experiencing visible skin improvement in just few days.
This March she released a book called The Beauty Detox Solution on diet, health and beauty. For her, proper nutrition has the power to leave the skin brighter; hair and nails stronger; increase energy and get the body you desire. The recipe and other tips can be found on the nutritionist's website.

Tweezerman

Want to know another word for "the best tweezer in the world"? Tweezerman! Its tweezers are number one every year - for a long time - so I decided to buy it. What I can say is that since I bought mine (a slant model), a few years ago, I got rid of all the other tweezers and I don't miss them at all! They are also very stylish and you can find in different patterns, colors, special editions, with crystals etc. In the U.S. they are sold in almost every drugstores, supermarkets and beauty stores.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse

I've never found a fragrant body oil that sticks to the skin without leaving it oily until I find Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse. An "it" product among Parisians! Besides being used as a body oil after shower (yes! you do not need to rinse!), it can also be used on the hair and face. With a delicious scent, leaves the skin silky, soft and hydrated. I haven't tested it on my face because I have oily skin, but it really works on the body and hair! And to our joy, you can get it from Amazon. On their website you can find other great products such as Shower Gel Fondant which is also approved!
